Just a few feet down the hill from town and the skate park is another feature of entertainment, the Salida Colorado Whitewater Play Hole. Located on the Arkansas River at the edge of the historic shopping district of Salida, the river gradient, along with the rocks placed in the right places, creates a “wave” for the whitewater kayakers. It is a site to behold, or a great hole to jump in if you are a whitewater boater! Whether you are a participant or spectator, the play hole is something to see.
